The Suitability Map considers various agronomic factors required to grow a given alternative crop, and it color codes areas in Missouri based on the assumed risk that a producer like you would take when growing the crop in a certain area.   1. To use the map, first choose a crop and the agronomic factor that you would like to assess for its fit with the crop selected, or select the comprehensive map, which merges all agronomic factor considerations into one map.

  2. Then, choose whether you would like to view a risk assessment for the whole state or a certain county.

  3. The resulting map highlights areas based on the risk that a producer would experience by growing the crop in a certain area.
